Bio
I am fascinated by the nuance of language, by the way it can confuse, confound and illuminate, by the way it entertains.
Before working as a freelance editor, I lived in Greece and South Asia where I had many adventures. My short fiction has been published in the Boston Literary Magazine, Glossolalia and Life with Objects.
While it is important to understand the rules of writing, I enjoy finding ways to break them. I also believe that it is good to know who your audience is and trust your reader.

Testimonials
I learned more from Carey than anyone else. After just one sitting, my stories not only became stronger, but I learned a great deal about the craft of writing that I have brought to my ongoing work. Carey's coaching is a gift that keeps on giving.

Carey is thorough, fun to work with, and has a great sense of humor. Her line editing and high-level reads are excellent. She is part psychologist, part task-master and all editor.
